If you want to have love in your life, you’d better be prepared to tell some lies and to believe some lies. If honesty is what matters most to you, you might as well embrace a life of silence and become a Trappist monk. These are, of course, options: Immanuel Kant, who argued that it was always wrong to lie, was a lifelong bachelor. And Arthur Schopenhauer, also a champion of truthfulness and opponent of romantic love — he argued that to marry meant to do everything possible to disgust each other — saved his greatest devotion for his uninterrupted string of poodles.

Norah Jones [I would wash her feet with my tears]

At the moment her song has slipped my mind, but I would invest in Norah Jones.  She's like the second Rasta Woman since Kate Bush.

In case you don't know, Kate Bush taught Tupac Shakur much of what developed in his musical heart.

Norah Jones is also a Rasta Woman like Kate Bush.

The song I can't remember at this time goes like this:  Don't you miss the good old days?

It's called SAY GOODBYE.

Say Goodbye

I've got few words to contribute right now. Still thinking over my past actions. But here is this song that resonates with me as displaying the type of girl who is manipulative, and knows it.

You did the right thing-got rid of her.Don't regret that one bit.I'm sure she's manipulative as hell.I guess she loves to watch soap operas.
And I think she does it for social strategy. She sees social strategy everywhere in soaps… how Kathy manipulated her love interest David into lying to his wife Ruth, causing them to have a big argument, driving David right into Kathy’s loving arms… and the affair begins.
It’s what Cosmo magazine is chock full of: How to socially manipulate people.

She socially manipulated you,my friend.

Agreed. As to Valentine's Day, that is about the least romantic idea I can think of. Hey, let's have ONE day where we all agree to feel (act) passionately towards someone. What a joke.

Confessions of a Secret Admirer of Norah Jones (I am not trying to sicken readers of this blog who may be leaning strongly in the direction of joining the Woman-Haters Club ... just making it clear that I am not immune to the charms and delights which capture the hearts of our more vulnerable compadres):

Don't forget my favorite, in which I refered to this woman as a Female Rasta, "Say Goodbye" from a few posts back.

From Trees With Knots Do Not Make Good Lumber:

Sigmund Freud (Sickmind Fraud) said that mental health is the ability to work and to love.  I guess Freud would see me as untamed and poorly Christianized.  The philosopher abhors marriage – marriage being a hinderance and a calamity on his path.  A married philosopher belongs in comedy!

I still have not given up my search for a disgruntled woman who would be able to handle my dark mind.  And yet, I am careful.  Becoming intimate with me might be disasterous unless the woman was able to handle me.  Most women can only handle me in very small doses.  If a woman is too young, I might get blamed for “driving her out of her mind” or something.  I am not kidding when I say I don’t want to hurt anyone.  I don’t want to be hurt by anyone else either.  I am tired … my heart just wants to stay calm …

The secret desires of my flesh are deeply connected to my emotional Lebenswelt.   I find myself very attracted to the spirit of the likes of a young Joan Jett, who I find very sultry.   I live in a fantasy world, La-La Land, actually.   I wonder what this says about me, that I have these unmet primitive needs.

Romantic Love and Pair Bonding seems to lead the "couple" to do everything possible to disgust each other.   Even living in close quarters with my own mother for these past six years has produced this kind of endless antagonism between us.  We argue like an old Jewish couple, and this can't be healthy for either of us ---- and yet it appears that we both need each other to survive.

I find my fate to be rather cruel, and I often find myself longing to lay beside a woman throughout the night.   It is not so much "romantic love" that I crave.   Maybe it is sexual intimacy that I crave.  I have denied that  primitive need for so long that my Animal Being may be sabotaging any kind of lasting happiness until I face these "longings for intimacy" ...

In the NY Times article, at the end:

Quote from: Clancy Martin
Love is a greater good than the truth. No marriage, no parent’s love of a child should be scrutinized like a pathologist examining his cadaver. Save your ruthless pursuit of the truth for the laboratory; we lovers would rather be like Shakespeare: “Therefore I lie with her and she with me / And in our faults by lies we flatter’d be.” Don’t worry so much about ferreting out the truth. Take care of each other instead.

This is why Schopenhauer claimed that a married philosopher belongs in comedy.   The truth leads to a homeless shelter in Amerika.

I used to say, "Truth is not Amerika's cup of tea."

It appears that romantic love cannot survive a ruthless pursuit of the truth.   I am getting so sick of society's utter dependence on lies and deception.   An honest truth seeking human animal is at a great disadvantage.  Liars are drawn to each other, and the honest must cuddle up with pillows.

Evidentally, so-called parental "love" cannot survive the pursuit of truth either.   It looks like my mother is going to make some decision that will throw both our lives into great turmoil.   I fear her stupidity and the damage such stupidity can do to me were she manipulated by the psychiatric/medical/legal SYSTEM.

I might not make it.   My mother is poised to betray me.   Life is tragic.

Love? There's no such thing, old friend. Only an ocean of semen and it's not worth it. The only ocean that's worth it is the ocean of booze. Drink until you die. And then drink some more with the grim reaper.

Mr.Ibra,

With due respect, there is a kind of pain so deeply rooted in one's being and so intense that, I'm afraid even an "ocean of booze" does very little to mitigate it.

May I make so bold, as to suggest that far from mitigating the " dark night of the soul",booze, more often than not, ends up aggravating it.

Take care.

To the Suffering One,

I am truly sorry that you are suffering terribly. Not just you, even Schopenhauer would have got terrified if he would have see the bedlam where they took you.

I did not intend to draw your attention to advanced math when I mentioned Gauss.I just wanted to say that Gauss also suffered a great deal but continued to do maths and maybe we could also continue to suffer and work on our basic mathematics.

The way I see it -you are a noble soul and most of your acquaintances try to take undue advantage of your-don’t cast pearls before swine.
All I can do is to share my limited experience and insights compared to yours and hope that it  would be of some help to you-my best days are when I talk to no one,see no one’s face.

I have noticed that almost all of the tragic episodes take place when we are in presence of someone, almost never when we are on our own.
I fully realize that institutions like AA and the Academia would stifle your sensitive soul.

My company has more or less disowned me. I get the salary but no increments and promotions( I do not want it). Though I work like a galley slave- I do not get along with the people.

Might I suggest, going to the forest, which is close to your house? The sky you would see, the trees you would touch and the earth you would walk upon, all groan along with you.Such is our fate.

Days go by and I do not eat. When I get too weak to continue to work without eating, I eat.

Compared to Kafka’s country, mine is thousand times more mind boggling. This message board has been a safe haven and yet I fully recognise the fact that at any point of time, anyone of us could be snatched away,by,to use Senor Raul’s term, the Archons.

The gorts around you want to break your spirit completely and then gladly let the rest of us know what they did with the best of us. If the gorts can make a mince meat out of your spirit, then, the rest of us are sitting ducks for them.

They might have chosen you especially to target. In chess, once the King is dead, it does not matter if all the other pieces are still around.

You are an incredible man, no two ways about it. A one-man army. To defy the whole of the gortish establish is nothing to sneeze at.
Yes,you are the Broken Spirit, but you also wrote, as Broken Spirit, that you are strong inside, and you even strengthen those around you.
If there anyone who is capable of beating the gortish establishment it is You.You can do it.Schopenhauer's shadow fights right along with you.

Cioran is there too.

Thank you, Holden, from the bottom of my broken (yet eternally healing) heart-spirit.

Maybe we may apply the 6 sacred words to the name, Broken Spirit.

Nothing that is so, is so.   :D

Your attention is powerful.

Recall that in the story, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, it was ultimately only a handful of coherent thinking human Beings who were Responsible for facing down und defeating the automatonic gort carnival of Horror Invasion.

May your long suffering heart-spirit-mind be eternally renewed!
