China´s new sunglasses
« on: April 23, 2018, 07:08:13 am »
From BBC News
February, 2018

Police in China have begun using sunglasses equipped with facial recognition technology to identify suspected criminals.
The glasses are connected to an internal database of suspects, meaning officers can quickly scan crowds while looking for fugitives.

But critics fear the technology will give even more power to the government.

The sunglasses have already helped police capture seven suspects, according to Chinese state media.

Police used the new equipment at a busy train station in the central city of Zhengzhou to identify the suspects.

The seven people who were apprehended are accused of crimes ranging from hit-and-runs to human trafficking.
The technology allows police officers to take a photograph of a suspicious individual and then compare it to pictures stored in an internal database. If there is a match, information such as the person's name and address will then be sent to the officer.

But there are fears that China's authoritarian leaders will use the sunglasses to track political dissidents or profile ethnic minorities.

China is a world leader in facial recognition technology and regularly reminds its citizens that such equipment will make it almost impossible to evade the authorities.

The country has been building what it calls "the world's biggest camera surveillance network".

An estimated 170 million CCTV cameras are already in place and some 400 million new ones are expected be installed in the next three years.

Many of the cameras use artificial intelligence, including facial recognition technology.

Senor Raul,

Thanks for the post.Yes,this is just the beginning of the tyranny. It is not just about China though.Almost the same thing is being replicated everywhere. Future is dystopian.I am very happy to find that there are still people like yourself who represent the soul of the Resistance. In fact,I can say to the readers of this board:"If you are reading these posts-You Are the Resistance".

We are outnumbered, to be sure. However, just as all through out the history there have always some people who have resisted tyranny in spite of unendurable pain, suffering & humiliation-we will fight on.

The human body perishes, that is true enough, but the IDEAS do not. Our ideas will not perish ,Senor Raul, much as they want to wipe them off the fact of the earth. Anyway, like Schopenhauer, we are not concerned with the masses or even with most of our contemporaries, but the people who will be here, unfortunately, 50 years ,100 years from now.THE WEIRD MINORITY.

Time is a mirage. Maybe it will be you & I again, in another body ,with another name, fighting this battle again & again...to a point where the concept of "Time" itself becomes meaningless.

Keep well.

I once read a book with a character called”Winston Smith”-I said to myself –a fine piece of work, however, it is merely the figment of a writer’s imagination or at best, depicts an era that is to be found only in dust-covered books of history.

Little did I know then that in the 21st century,in a place ,where they like to proclaim that it is the world’s largest democracy, such a person could exist again.

Let alone ,that I  myself, personally, will be called upon to be the new”Winston Smith”.

Holden,

Big Brother is watching us. In many parts of the city there is a surveillance camera in almost every corner. But of course the planet is scanned entirely by spy satellites. They can pinpoint your office or even a woman undressing in her bedroom. The eye in the sky sees everything.

To survive one must be a fool or act like clowns.  Many years ago I saw the movie 1984 with John Hurt (Winston Smith) and Richard Burton. I suppose I must read the book someday.

The idea of Big Brother is not new. If we think that we human beings are creatures, artificially created. That means that these psychopathic engineers have been controlling, overseeing and manipulating the human herd. They do not do it this overtly because they have their puppets, i.e. kings, queens, presidents, priests, pastors, generals, prime ministers, emperors, czars, etc. to do the dirty job. These hierarchies need poverty and ignorance and wars to remain in power. Also the organized religions serve the purpose of enslaving the human beings. The prison planet is well guarded.

As you say they do things in a more subtle way. They do not want martyrs. Too dangerous. Killing is better. They do the killing in many ways by using scientific methods. Many years ago I read Gordon Thomas, a British author, and this man wrote about the MK Ultra, a program developed by the CIA. They did a research on mind control. One of the goals was to create hypnotized assassins who were unaware of what they were and what their mission was. Some specials words, signs, or other triggers, made the assassins kill and forget all about it. Practically they erased his/her mind. But one cannot erase the minds of 8 billion people so other methods will be put in practice.

Maybe you saw this movie Conspiracy with Kenneth Branagh, Stanley Tucci, Colin Firth, etc. It was about the Wannsee Conference where the Nazi hierarchy presided by SS Grupenfuhrer Reinhart Heydrich established the Final Solution.
I see these madmen who control this planet sitting at the table and designing the planet affairs the same way the Nazis did with Europe and the undesirable races.

Yes, the thought police is watching and waiting. Rebellious men and women will always be subject to control. It is understandable. I suppose if I was on the other side, I would fight the rebels. Those who want to hammer the stake fear into the despots and dictators will always be punished. History has thousands of examples.

I read somewhere that 10,000 more people are born every hour. The horror  is endless. For the thought police, in my view, the danger is that a few like you, Hentrich, and many others, see life as irremediably evil. The New Inquisitors believe that life is precious. Life is the real religion or cult. Whoever dares to challenge this belief, will be taken to the dungeons.

I also read that 20,000 people starve to death every day. We don´t read these numbers on TV But if Donald Duck Trump says Shithole, well, this mad world gets upset.  A puppet show in this cemetery called Earth.

Stay safe and sound.

Senor Raul,

I am afraid I have not watched the movie Conspiracy. But I will, if my circumstances permit. You posts are really Lovecraftian in that you to straight to the heart of the problem.

Confusion is my usual state of mind & I also suffer from frequent & intense brain fades. It is almost as if I do not possess the words which could adequately describe my anguish & agony. They talking mouths on the TV go on and on about Cricket matches.Even olds folks in their 60s & 70s wear the "Team Uniform" & act as "cheer leaders".They do not want to face the reality that is sickening in nature.

I was thinking about Lovecraft's marriage.Do you know he was married (he never divorced) for a couple of years? His wife left him.I could not find any reasons anywhere. But it is quite clear, even the critics are too polite to say what the reason was-she found Lovecraft to be weird because he did not have a "proper" job.She herself was a business woman.

Lovecraft himself was too much of a gentleman to ever blame her, but I am certain a soul as sensitive as Lovecraft would have felt gutted when the wife decided to dump him.
Anyway, want I am trying to say is never trust anyone ,particularly, business men & women, they are out only to make a buck.
They also have another tendency which I have observed-they enjoy nitpicking ,for instance, if you kept the paper weight where it is not "supposed" to be-may god have mercy on your poor soul. Or if your shirt has a couple of creases -you are damned.

Keep well & stay away from Businesswomen.

Holden,

Anguish and agony are part of those, like you and others, who see this world as a madhouse. And the “sane” people go and watch cricket as they do with soccer here. This Sunday we had elections here. That´s another game most play every five years. Changing new bosses for old ones. A very old game.

Yes, businesspeople, religious leaders and politicians and military leaders are very skillful manipulators. That is their job. Lie and deceive. I suppose that is the reason they are so effective. Most of them are psychopaths or vampires. In one of your posts you mention Jeff Bezos, the CEO who squeeze his employees to the last drop. I suppose Bezos must think that his employees must say thank you to him. You are seeing the Bezozes of India doing the same.

I read that the Delano side of Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s family made their fortune in the Chinese opium trade. The poor Chinese helped FDR endure life when he had to use a wheelchair until his death.

In the 1920s they were known as the robber barons. Now they are philanthropists. But the best, in my view, thieves were or are the royal bloodlines of England, Spain, Holland, France, Belgium, Portugal, etc.

Making profits on kidnapping, smuggling, gambling, loan sharking, money laundering, murder, racketeering, extortion, bribery, counterfeiting, prostitution, the trade in human organs, selling snuff films, and drug trafficking, blood transfusions, and the dark web are considered the true “business of living” for many. This is a “proper job”.
A sensitive soul like HPL could never be part of the business world. His writing skills were not “marketable”.

Who can say that the life of a businessman, a politician, or an astronaut is superior to a life spent dreaming of invisible worlds?

Money, this government issued paper and legal tender by law. It is not based on gold, silver or anything with value. But it is universal in this planet. A truly diabolical invention to keep the human puppets in prison.

Stay safe and sound.

These words bring me consolation.

I had shared the Square Root Algorithm code with a childhood friend from long ago.  I sent him a zip file and he was able to run it in Windows.   While he was amazed that I was able to focus so intensely, he could not help but reveal a certain gortish tendency to suppose it might be improved were it "GUI"-oriented - MARKETABLE?   I had to take a deep breath - forgive them for they know not what they do.   :-\

The whole point was to pass on the algorithm with such numerical precision, and to be able to handle so many cases.

It was never my intention to make it edutainment.

It required all my mental efforts and concentration for the entire month of February and I would never dream of fuucking it up by trying to make it more "user friendly".

It's not for those who require things to be transmitted into their brains through osmosis ...

Anyway, I understand this mentality, this "marketability" mentality.

It reminds me of an uncle of mine who never tires of suggesting to my mother that I tutor at some community college to earn some extra FOOD money, to possibly pay off my mother's home equity loan which the banks use to rob her of the little money the government doles out to her each month.

Even though I have never had any desire to write stories, I feel a certain kinship with Lovecraft, not due to my temperament, for I am nothing like him, but specifically with this inability or unwillingness to sell myself, to make myself useful to some business man.

I understand that there may be many who would resent me for just going with the flow when diagnosed with bipolar disorder ... but this lifestyle of not reporting to a boss and learning to get by with what I can, trying not to be too concerned about the future, well, I have no one to blame for any financial insecurity I may face.  After all, I have not been preparing for the future.

I just hope I have the courage to end my existence gracefully rather than prolong it beyond my capacity to endure.

By the way, do you really think "they" watch everyone from a satellite?

I find such spooks to be a little pathetic.  Not much going on between their ears if they have all that energy to spy on others.

Also, it makes me relieved to be out of the zones where there is rampant "crack" and "cystral meth" epidemics.

The paranoia is miserable, and it is awful to be under anyone's control like one is when under the influence of such powerful narcotics.

There are some very spooky creeps on this prison planet.  It is best to isolate with some math books, lay low, and avoid any kind of fame or fortune.

We can consider ourselves blessed for being so lazy and indifferent to the values of our wealth-warped celebrity worshipping cultures.   Blessed, I say!

That is your genius as it was Lovecraft's. I dare say that if your mathematical endeavours were monetised in some way then you might end up losing interest in that as well.Wilson writes:

Victims of this"outsider" tragedy that is so common to our time:men whose vision makes them unfit for the struggle for everyday existence, but whose genius is not of "commercial nature".
These outsiders live like hermits in the midst of modern cities. If they are not lucky-like Lovecraft-their fate is the saddest in the world.
Far more than Hemingway or Faulkner or even Kafka,he is a symbol of the outsider artist in the 20th century. He created the Cthulu Mythos out of inner necessity. He lived in a kind of jail for much of his life.It is a sign of his genius that ,in spite of lack of money,of ill health & frustration,he still managed to create a world of such haunting poetic power.

I think you study mathematics out of inner necessity.

Senor Raul,
Thank you for your response. You mentioned the elections in Paraguay-who won,the left or the right? Sometimes the left is a thousand times worse than the right.Anyway,I do not identify with any of them.I see a very thin girl of about 5 & a very fat dog sitting at the gate of the subway.

Also, the subway compartments are so tightly packed that I fail to get down at my destination station-there is just too many people blocking the exit. The other day a lady slapped a man in the apartment as she thought he was trying to feel her up-but the way I see it,there was no space for the man to keep a gap between the two of them.

The Marxists ,particularly, the ones I see over here are such fools. They all want a cozy bourgeois job.

I feel really absurd. On the streets I see people gobbling down Indian snacks and sweets as if there is no tomorrow, while right next to them beggars are asking for alms.Today a beggar woman chased a man for about half a kilometer,he finally showed her his empty wallet only then did she relent. She was shouting that her baby is dying and she needs INR 100 to pay the doctor's fee.By the way,the doctors are some of the richest folks here.Rich & fat.

The problem is, if you would look for plain Indian bread and salt here you would not find any,I am sorry to tell you-all you would find are pizzas, burgers, crisps etc. No profit margin in selling bread I guess.Let them eat pizza.

Have you heard of Mother Teresa? She is now a saint I guess.Anyway, she spent a lot of time trying to feed and shelter the poor. The problem is the rate at which the poor are growing, even a thousand Teresas will not be enough.
I would not mind if someone were to launch a castration mission-in fact I would be the first volunteer.
There is an old age home nearby run by the missionaries. The lovers, for the want of parks & the link ,go to the old age home on the pretext of serving the aged & make out in the old age home.

Keep well.

Holden,
Thank you for your response.

Yes, I feel absurd too. Who would not feel absurd when you see human puppets walking, dancing, talking, shhiitting, shouting, drinking, etc, as if there is no tomorrow as you say.  Last week I saw a boy helping a very young girl in a wheelchair. She was crippled and almost blind, as I could see. The boy was begging for money for her.

Here in this country the right is led by the ANR (Asociación Nacional Republicana) known commonly as Partido Colorado whose candidate is Mario Abdo Benítez, son of one of the most important men in General Alfredo Stroessner´s regime (1954-1989). The other candidate was Efraín Alegre, PLRA (Partido Liberal Radical Auténtico) and a coalition of small parties. These two are traditional political parties. Both are just tools for the real power.  Sharks in business suits.

This topic about the left reminds me of something I read about Karl Marx. You see this man in today´s world should be considered as a “loser”. For most of Marx´s adult life, and while his children were young, his main source of income came from his friend,Friedrich Engels, who sent money to support the family.

This Engels´s family was wealthy and received money from  cotton mills in Manchester, England. Please correct me if this information is wrong. His wife gave birth to seven children. Only three survived. His daughter, Laura, married Paul Lafargue, a French author of “The Right to Be Lazy”. Both committed suicide.

Then you have the Red Czar, Vladimir Illitch Ulianov, Lenin, who as a lawyer, only had five cases and lost all of them. Lenin´s brother was hanged for an attempt against the Czar. For thirty years his income came from the family and the contributions of party. He was a professional revolutionary.  Also his final trip in the sealed train to Russia in 1917 was financed by Imperial Germany, by the German Kaiser Wilhelm II to seize power and make peace with the Germans.

Even Leon Trotsky who left from New York for Russia also in 1917 carried USD 50,000, later confiscated by the Canadian authorities.  The founder of the Red Army and later killed on Stalin´s orders in 1940 had no visible means of support. Yes, Stalin, a bank robber and mass murderer. At his funeral millions mourned his death in the Red
Square in Moscow. The victims paying homage to their tormentor.

All these “heroes” of the proletarian class should be “losers” in this world.

And last but not least Fidel Castro of Cuba. His father, from Spain, Galicia, was a wealthy man. A lesser figure, Illitch Ramírez Sánchez aka Carlos the Jackal. This man, from Venezuela, whose father was a millionaire, became a terrorist in the 1970s. Since 1994 he has been a guest of the French state prisons. All of these human mannekins only succeeded in causing destruction and chaos.

Why do these young men and women, who shout “Workers of the World, unite” never mention this topic?

I heard of Mother Teresa here. From time to time I see nuns of her congregation in the streets.  I read that many criticized her for not improving her shelters for the poor. It is said that she even took money from donations and sent it to the Vatican as though the Pope needed it, John Paul II, in this case.  As you say a thousand Teresas would not be enough there.

Regarding castration or sterilization, in my view, the corporations, the multinationals, the billionaires, the big business in short, want more and more people. More customers,  more cannon fodder for the farm.
That means selling more smartphones, more Coca Colas, more junk food, more cars, more fuel, more pharmaceutical drugs, etc.

Every baby born on this planet already belongs to the multinationals or corporations. Every baby born is a captive customer.  Life is so wonderful.

Stay safe and sound.

This has been my mode of thought for years now.  I took a personal vow of poverty after graduating community college.  I'm a janitor at a small school; the work is exactly what I need for a simple, quiet Denial-of-the-Will-to-Live.  I'd rather spend my time listening to music, having some drinks, or doing my occasional writing.  I wasn't cut out for this world, and am thankful that I never really tried to play the game anyways.  Even at the job -as unfortunate as it is to have to work- I can think my own thoughts, rather than on meeting company numbers, impressing some "suit," and "getting ahead."

It's amazing how one could go through their whole life busying themselves for the grave.  I've chosen to lie in it while still alive.

Hentrich,

You know that HPL was not the only one whose skills were not marketable. I am sure many geniuses were lost. That is the reason I say nothing when I hear people say that some artists sold their souls to the devil for success and riches.

Ever heard of the devil´s violinist, Niccolo Paganini or Robert Johnson, the blues legend in the Mississippi? Supposedly they made a bargain with the commander in chief of this world, so to speak. I would sell my soul too if I had talent but no marketable skills. I feel forsaken by the devil. Too bad for me.

Yes, Hentrich, take a deep breath and forgive them for they know not what they do. I don´t think you are lazy. It takes time and disciple to study such a difficult subject like mathematics.

You have “no marketability and marketing mentality”. They want you to say “I market myself, therefore I exist.” Yes, out of money, out of sight. As Holden says, you have no “commercial nature”.

Maybe I was exaggerating but I know the spy satellites scan the entire planet. Years ago I read that the Europeans had the Echelon satellite system and the U.S. the Excalibur. I am sure their technology is much more powerful now. Russia, India and the Chinese also have powerful eyes in the skies.

Continue to study the language of numbers.

Stay safe and take a siesta.Be more lazy.

That is a great thought -"to spend the life in a grave".You are more than welcome to be here for as long as you like.It is quite evident that your life has its fair share of hardships just like ours, that you are a Fellow Sufferer.

Senor Raul,

Thank you for your post.Sometimes my mind just goes completely blank. And nothing, I tell you, nothing makes sense to me.There is always a dark cloud hanging over my head, hell, sometimes I feel so overwhelmed with anxiety that I almost lose my consciousness.
But when I am lone with the books-I sort of feel okay. I can at he very least breathe then.

There are so many beggars in the city-a lot of them old women. Today I saw an old beggar woman near the subway. She was eating some fried bread and potatoes,I guess bestowed to her by a passer-by. She is almost completely skin & bones & yet she eats.I wonder if the "need to eat" is so strong in her that no matter how great the sorrow, how perverse the plight, she will continue to feed.

Is the need to eat equally powerful in me too?

Constant honking of horns of vehicles & people do not walk ,let alone amble, they run here to their "destination". They seem intent on keep on reproducing one baby after another, keep on piling horror upon horror.
What rationality, what divinity is to be found in such chaos? None. None whatsoever. There is only bestiality.
Is the need to copulate so strong that things can only get messier? It seems that way.
I cannot understand the local language properly, that is another problem-they cannot grasp what I am saying, cannot comprehend what they are saying.
I feel nauseous all the time, almost. Vomiting does not help. My very soul is sick, sick to the very core.

Keep well.

Holden,

Nothing makes sense. Yes, I agree with you. One cannot avoid being confused and overwhelmed in this world.  Using your words we live in a kind of jail. That is the reason your soul is sick in a zombie world.

Evil divinities, in my view, are behind this chaos. I see this Earth as a giant brick oven where human beings are shoved into like loaves of bread and later pulled out as charred remains. This view comes from the pictures of Nazi concentration camps.

Bestiality is all around us. But the ones who realize this madness are you, Hentrich, and others. Only sensitive souls can see and feel this chaos, this insanity on this large pit called Earth. This is a madhouse where we are the inmates. Human inmates whose bodies are operated by spiritual entities during life.

I think you said once that we are trapped by Maya, the world of illusion. A hell of an illusion I would say, meaning physically trapped in a body and trapped again in an earthly prison. As you wrote this is a samsaric existence. Horrible.

Homo sapiens has had a brutal and violent past. We reap what we sow. A violent present is the result. We have been made in the image and likeness of the brutal masters. The way we treat our fellow human beings and animals, we are also treated the same way.

You are living in a very big city. Asunción must be a neighborhood in comparison with the cities there. But it is crowded and polluted because 500,000 vehicles pass through the city every day.  In ten years most will have to wear masks in the streets. For the sake of the future babies this city should be shut down like Chernobyl in the Ukraine. Paraguayan babies will be the new mutants.

Stay well.
