Holden,
Thank you for your response.
Yes, I feel absurd too. Who would not feel absurd when you see human puppets walking, dancing, talking, shhiitting, shouting, drinking, etc, as if there is no tomorrow as you say. Last week I saw a boy helping a very young girl in a wheelchair. She was crippled and almost blind, as I could see. The boy was begging for money for her.
Here in this country the right is led by the ANR (Asociación Nacional Republicana) known commonly as Partido Colorado whose candidate is Mario Abdo Benítez, son of one of the most important men in General Alfredo Stroessner´s regime (1954-1989). The other candidate was Efraín Alegre, PLRA (Partido Liberal Radical Auténtico) and a coalition of small parties. These two are traditional political parties. Both are just tools for the real power. Sharks in business suits.
This topic about the left reminds me of something I read about Karl Marx. You see this man in today´s world should be considered as a “loser”. For most of Marx´s adult life, and while his children were young, his main source of income came from his friend,Friedrich Engels, who sent money to support the family.
This Engels´s family was wealthy and received money from cotton mills in Manchester, England. Please correct me if this information is wrong. His wife gave birth to seven children. Only three survived. His daughter, Laura, married Paul Lafargue, a French author of “The Right to Be Lazy”. Both committed suicide.
Then you have the Red Czar, Vladimir Illitch Ulianov, Lenin, who as a lawyer, only had five cases and lost all of them. Lenin´s brother was hanged for an attempt against the Czar. For thirty years his income came from the family and the contributions of party. He was a professional revolutionary. Also his final trip in the sealed train to Russia in 1917 was financed by Imperial Germany, by the German Kaiser Wilhelm II to seize power and make peace with the Germans.
Even Leon Trotsky who left from New York for Russia also in 1917 carried USD 50,000, later confiscated by the Canadian authorities. The founder of the Red Army and later killed on Stalin´s orders in 1940 had no visible means of support. Yes, Stalin, a bank robber and mass murderer. At his funeral millions mourned his death in the Red
Square in Moscow. The victims paying homage to their tormentor.
All these “heroes” of the proletarian class should be “losers” in this world.
And last but not least Fidel Castro of Cuba. His father, from Spain, Galicia, was a wealthy man. A lesser figure, Illitch Ramírez Sánchez aka Carlos the Jackal. This man, from Venezuela, whose father was a millionaire, became a terrorist in the 1970s. Since 1994 he has been a guest of the French state prisons. All of these human mannekins only succeeded in causing destruction and chaos.
Why do these young men and women, who shout “Workers of the World, unite” never mention this topic?
I heard of Mother Teresa here. From time to time I see nuns of her congregation in the streets. I read that many criticized her for not improving her shelters for the poor. It is said that she even took money from donations and sent it to the Vatican as though the Pope needed it, John Paul II, in this case. As you say a thousand Teresas would not be enough there.
Regarding castration or sterilization, in my view, the corporations, the multinationals, the billionaires, the big business in short, want more and more people. More customers, more cannon fodder for the farm.
That means selling more smartphones, more Coca Colas, more junk food, more cars, more fuel, more pharmaceutical drugs, etc.
Every baby born on this planet already belongs to the multinationals or corporations. Every baby born is a captive customer. Life is so wonderful.
Stay safe and sound.
