How One Loses Interest in Mathematics

I am wondering how long my "lack of interest" in Mathematics will last.  When the stomach is jumpy, the intestines rumbling, and all one can do is hide under a blanket, with cold winds howling outdoors, all my notebooks appear a million miles away.   That is, nothing could move me to crack open any of my notebooks.

How quickly one's brain turns to mush!   :-[
