I began reading Not to Be. As I may have mentioned, it is a 64 megabyte file ... the book directly scanned so you can see the stained paper, which is actually kind of cool, I think. The only restriction is that this is not suited for an ereader but must be read on a computer.
There is so much I am reading at night. That's why I try to focus on math throughout the entire day since it is so easy to become so distracted.
I think you would find Korzybski interesting if you can get passed his "metaphysics/philosophy bashing" --- he's strictly "science-oriented". In fact, simply implementing the use of E Prime might
eliminate metaphysics in its present form. Hence, I think, if we are to engage in this extensive reading of the transaltions of Kant's work, we might want to include at least a brief overview of non-Aristotlean general semantics (and e-prime [English minus the is of identity and verbs "to be"]).
See
Science and Sanity: An Introduction to Non-Aristotelian Systems and General SemanticsI had been into Korzybski and General Semantics back in the early 1990's before I became engrossed in Calculus, Physics, and C programming. Now, I am curious to see if I might be able to alter my language a little. it doesn't matter to me that E Prime never caught on. I stand to learn about language just by looking into it, as far as not using the passive voice.
PS: As for the ice-cream, I imagined you would not indulge in such a thing. For me though, since I no longer imbibe alcohol, I like to get ice cream on sale as a treat. I also found an espresso machine selling at less than one third of its cost due to damaged packaging.
I thought that drinking espresso coffee might make me less irritable. Well, no such luck. It might be making me a little more hyper and anxious.
There is no cure.
