Mrs. Sixta is sick and needs money to buy her medication

Grandmother Sixta Escura (83) from Carlos Antonio López, Itapúa (on the border with Argentina) claims her retirement money for the elderly. This money was taken away without any explanation by the Ministry of Finance.

Mrs. Escurrra keeps her debit card by BNF( National Development Bank) and other papers provided when she received the state benefit and every month she goes to the cashier hoping that the 450,000 guaranies (roughly US$ 80) she used to receive.

Supposedly an employee in the Ministry of Fiance went to the grandmother´s house and she told her that she must check all her data and asked her Paraguayan cédula de identidad (ID).

The lady went to get her papers but she did not find them at that moment. When she explained the situation the employee, she left the house without saying anything. After that day she stopped receiving the money.

The lady has claimed for her money several times  and again she was visited by the Ministry of Finance employees. Again they asked her for her ID and promised her she would check the situation. The lady is waiting for them to get in touch with her to know if she will ever again receive the money.
