Hypocrisy and Contradictions
« on: August 13, 2018, 11:21:37 pm »
When I was thinking about my concerns about my notebooks being of some use to someone in the future (were I to eventually digitize them and upload them somewhere to be downloaded for free), thinking also about Korzybski's ideas on "time binding," I found it more than a little hypocritical that I wished to communicate to a future while simultaneously holding the belief that it is better not to procreate since it just creates another creature with an appetite who is destined to suffer and die.

Is there a contradiction here somewhere?

I would have to say so.  I have done the same thing as I compile my aphorisms into material to be read.  By whom?  Probably no one or not many, but I still do it.  I'd like to say that I would prefer not to be remembered and yet I still do this.  Maybe we all believe to some extent that leaving behind a work "immortalizes" us...ah, who can say.
