Endless Cycles
« on: June 06, 2017, 10:59:36 am »
Senor Raul has used the phrase"Endless Cycles"  a couple of times-it has caught my eye. I think what he means by it is similar to what Nietzsche meant by the phrase Eternal Recurrence. However, before Nietzsche, this concept can clearly be found in the work of Schopenhauer himself.
It's a powerful concept alright.
It does explain those gut feelings, the deja vu, the certainty of an outcome before it's happened..
It's a plausible concept, and enough to induce an existential crisis. This could also be used to explain hypotheses of highly advanced ancient civilisations, which could actually be previous iterations of mankind at our present juncture.
This  inner question can easily turn  into complete personal obsession .One ponders over and over again  all day long, sometimes even causing insomnia.
The Buddhist philosophy  also spoke of the time passing as an illusion made by the mind, everything is like still frames & the mind "rolls" as a film.If this is true then the future is already set and if we could see it like we see the past we'd realise free will doesnt really exist.
.  A person perceives himself moving "through" time, but, in reality, it is not "he" who moves through time, but some machine of perception inside him that makes it appear so.  This machine of perception is like a needle on a record.  It traces the grooves that are already there, waiting to vibrate the needle.  So here is the question.  Would the record only play once?

This  cyclical view of time was also held by the Ancient Greeks, Norse and Vedic people..

So... how many times I have I posted this before?
