Holden commenting on Colin Wilson's concept of "mind parasites" :

Quote from: Holden
I have noticed something which fits with the above mentioned idea completely. Whenever I begin to study mathematics in earnest some sort of weird mischief gets played in the office which ends up completely distracting me from it.Till last Saturday morning I have been studying Husserl and Mathematics really well & boom! all of a sudden on Saturday morning I got a letter which has forced to focus now on that issue because I may well lose my job if things continue to move in the direction, they are at the moment.

This is just a small example & I swear to god it has happened to me scores of times. Even on Saturday morning I was saying to myself that "now that you are really studying mathematics and philosophy well you can expect some really bad thing to happen to you anytime now" & lo & behold, within 30 minutes,I received the terrible letter.  I think I know what "Mind Parasites" mean.

This happens to me as well.  In more paranoid moments, I would even suspect my own mom was one of their main agents set out to disrupt me or otherwise sidetrack my attention with inanities or "manufactured crises" ... Sometimes I like to imagine them working through others, without others even being conscious of it.  Even if it is not true, if it helps to explain "my reality," then it is "real" --- in other words, myths are real.

Below, Ibra must be referring to Why Comedian Dave Chappelle Walked Away From $50 million:

Mind Parasites, Energy Parasites and Vampires
« Reply #17 on: August 22, 2021, 07:02:52 pm »
From Mind Parasites, Energy Parasites and Vampires

Presently, in the West, we have a blind spot in our awareness as huge as the species-wide blind spot we had for most of our existence about the microbiological realm. Unlike Chinese medicine, Ayurveda, and what would be common knowledge to any tribal Shaman, we are blind to organisms that exist on the energetic plane. Dr. Samuel Sagan is a medical doctor who has researched this subject and written a book entitled, ENTITIES: Parasites of the Body of Energy (Read my review of this book: Energy Parasites—the Sagan View ) He’s part of a school in Australia that a friend of mine attended and spoke highly of, though I know next to nothing about it. In an excerpt available on the website clairvision.org, Dr. Sagan writes:

The topic is both old and new. Old, because in all traditions and folklores of the earth, one finds references to spirits and non-physical beings which can interfere with human beings. Thus Ayurveda, the traditional medicine of India, is divided into eight sections, one of which is entirely devoted to the study of bhutas, or entities, their influence on health and sanity, and the ways one can get rid of them. This places bhuta-vidya, or ‘science of entities’, on the same level as surgery or gynecology. If we look at traditional Chinese medicine, we find that in acupuncture, among the 361 points of the 14 main meridians, 17 have the word Kuei (disincarnate spirit) as part of their main or secondary name.

Call them spirits, incubi and the succubi, they have as many names as there are cultures and languages, but they have been widely recognized by everybody except us. Disincarnate organisms are far more generally recognized than the microbiological realm ever was until the invention of the microscope. And there isn’t just one type of course, but a fantastically varied cryptozoology of parasites, predators, and symbionts. Everywhere that we find life, we find endless variations on those classic energetic relationships—parasitism, predation, and symbiosis. As the alchemists put it, “As above, so below.” As it is on the mircrobiological plane, so it also is on the energetic plane.

If there are organisms on the energetic plane, we should expect to find many highly evolved species of parasites. And what every parasite is looking for is a host with a rich deposit of energy—like the warm-blooded mammals, which attract female mosquitoes that will use them to fertilize their eggs and complete their life cycle. What is the richest deposit of organic energy that we know of? This would have to be human psychic energy/sexual chi—the energy that dominates this planet. What types of human beings have the richest deposit of this energy? Adolescents, particularly male adolescents, have the greatest overabundance of sexual chi, and highly creative visionary types are thought to have the strongest psychic charge. Although the evidence is entirely anecdotal, these also seem to be the types most likely to experience mind parasite attacks.

From my work with dream interpretation, and as someone known to be a student of paranormal phenomena, I have listened to dreams and strange occurrences from people of all ages. A consistent trend is that it is usually adolescents, or adults recalling an adolescent episode, who tell me of the classic nighttime parasitic attacks. These attacks tend to be highly stereotyped and  entirely lacking, as far as I can tell, in psychological content. Should we discard all this human testimony because Western science is so far unable to satisfactorily explain it? We should always be wary when any area of human testimony is automatically discarded by a ruling collective. How many generations, how many millennia, was the testimony of child abuse rejected by the collective?

Adolescents are the age segment of the population that generate the strongest excess of sexual chi, and are also the group most associated with parapsychological phenomena. Poltergeist activity, for example, is usually associated with adolescents undergoing puberty in a household in which there is strong sexual repression. F. Scott Fitzgerald, in his first novel, This Side of Paradise —written when he was barely out of adolescence himself—wrote that people were attracted to the young because they were giving off “calories of innocence.” Calories, as I’m sure you know, are a unit of energy, of heat. When someone is attractive we say they are “hot.” An interesting correlation I’ve noticed is that those most likely to report energetic attacks also tend to be especially good-looking. It is as if their dream body or energy body has an attractiveness that parallels their physical body.

(For more hidden aspects of appearance and body image disorders see The Glorified Body—- Metamorphosis of The Body and the Crisis Phase of Human Evolution )

One could also conjecture that these especially attractive individuals are more likely to experience attacks because of sexual attention or erotic fantasies generated by people whom they have attracted. Could autoerotic fantasies, highly energetically charged events culminating in orgasm, get loose and somehow be experienced by their target person during the boundary dissolution and heightened telepathy of dreaming? In her book on projection, Jung’s brilliant colleague, Marie Louise Von Franz, points out that in traditional cultures, projection, like “the curse of the evil eye,” was depicted as an arrow or missile going out from the projector to the target person and penetrating their energetic field. Any woman who has gotten the creeps while being cruised by sexually predatory men knows that this is not merely a metaphor. The effect of these sorts of sexually charged projections may also explain some of the madness of celebrities who become the targets of colossal amounts of projection.

Although I have no way of confirming or disproving this possibility, we do know from quantum mechanics that even on the subatomic plane, to observe a thing is to change a thing, so the highly charged sexual projections and autoerotic fantasies directed toward a person can be reasonably supposed to have an effect on them. For example, studies conducted by British biologist Rupert Sheldrake have confirmed that the eyes on the back of your head feeling of someone staring at you is a real effect confirmed by controlled experiments. But to take the next step and suggest that the heated attention of desire is a vector for energy parasite transmission, or even an origin of the parasites, is purely speculative at this point.

In addition to being speculative, it may also be rather dangerous, as a literal-minded person who has an erotic dream involving person X might falsely assume that person X is stalking them on the etheric plane. This assumption resulted in more than a few witch burnings in this country during Puritan times, when a sexually repressed man could have an erotic dream about Sarah Goodwife and this would be admitted into court as “spectral evidence” that she was a witch. Some of my fellow Jungians would also say that what I am calling mind parasites would be better described as autonomous complexes of the collective unconscious. I would have to respectfully disagree with them, at least in many cases, because if these were autonomous complexes of the collective unconscious, I would expect to see their occurrence embedded with more psychological content and associated mythological motifs, and usually this is not the case.

The word "Bhuta" is still  rather commonplace here in Hindi.I think its origin might be in Sanskrit.Hindi is to Sanskrit what Italian is to Latin.

When I was a kid whenever an aunt or an older cousin wanted to scare me they said you better behave or else a bhuta shall manifest itself.

One evening ,I might have been seven or eight, some relatives of mine were sharing tales or incidents regarding the said entity and I became so very frightened  that I went whereever my maternal granny went(she was my favourite grandparent). If she went to the kitchen for two seconds then I followed her there.

There are certain people who just exeude the wrong kind of vibes .I feel it when I am around them.

When I am here on this message board or reading something written by you,I feel the kind of vibes a christian might experience in presence of Archangel Michael.

I think you might want to look at this book:

Thank you, Holden.  It was not at Library Genesis, but I will keep it in mind.

I had been reading School for Corpses out loud the last couple of days, and I must admit that there were some lines I could not read aloud.   I could not bring myself to read n-g--r, and the word Jew was used so often, I found myself replacing the word with "Banksters."

This is a difficult read for me, if only because I have really tried to minimize that degree of paranoia in my mind.   It is creepy.  I wonder where such strong opinions could lead, except into serious trouble.

And yet, I am reading it, so there must be something about it ... It may have been written while Hitler was in jail, so Celine did not have the benefit of hindsight when it came to the outcomes.  What a frightening world.   I believe I may be especially doomed or especially targeted for extinction.  Reading it has made me aware of just why my "defiance" and "sudden hostilities" may have generational roots.

It would explain why I feel a deep connection with the indigenous peoples of the Western hemisphere ... since I may fancy myself the descendant of peoples indigenous to some northern (Scandinavian) area of the world.

At least "School for Corpses" gives a different perspective than the common Hollywood version of "history".  For the first time in a long time, I worry that the nature of "polite society" and "political correctness" might prevent me from formulating my True Thoughts.

I suppose that in not automatically condemning the book, it makes me suspect.

Suspect of what?

Well ... of being afraid that the International Banksters would target me as some kind of threat and have me conveniently disappeared.

It's just as well, right?

Thank you, Holden.  Now, more than ever, I will exert some effort to govern myself by toning down the rhetoric.   At least I was able to mature emotionally and psychologically before reading School for Corpses.   I can only offer Nell Irvin Painter's "The History of White People" as a study which might lend some perspective to such an emotionally charged pamphlet from 1940 or so.

Whatever the case, I sympathize with those who choose to die young.  It is too late for me to die young, so all I can do is try to motivate myself to become genuinely interested in the discipline of mathematics.   I did not want to be distracted by Wildberger's theory (rational trigonometry to a universal geometry) since I was so deeply engrossed in going through and documenting every single exercise in the Mary Dolciani series (which is total set-theoretical based).

Now, I am leaning more toward the direction that Rational Trigonometry might be something I could study ... even if from a dungeon.  I have to have something to live for besides trying to win the affections of a strong woman.  The main obstacle, presently, is my ego.  That is, when notation that is exotic to me is presented, I expect myself to pick it up easily, and then I become discouraged when I become confused.

I have to follow my own advice and recognize the confusion I experience as a symptom of my intellectual honesty.  This is the spiritual component: mustering the humility to allow myself to THINK IN A NEW WAY.   Wouldn't it be a blessing were my interest in mathematics to free me from politics?   And yet, we are political animals.

I had experienced intense passion over such issues as a young adult, but I may have matured enough to be able to keep things in perspective and not die on such a hill as this.

You know, I was having a rough year in 1985 my last year of High School, maybe even experiencing a nervous breakdown, feeling resentments towards those who came from monied families.  Many did not worry about grades and openly mocked me for going for A's and B's.  They would say, "Ha!  Hentrich gets an A but will be a social worker, while I can get D's and earn 6 figures on Wall Street."

They even knew back then!  Anyway, this little song came out that year.  No need to wonder why I love musicians and artists.  If I have a soul, it is thanks to the musicians and artists.

Stay sensitive, Holden; and thank you for your guidance.  Although you are younger than myself, you possess a definite ancient wisdom that is your own.

It is impossible for me to define myself or "how I really think" as there are so many contradictions.  I am influenced by Cornell West and "The Prophetic Traditions," and yet I am intellectually hostile to the Abrahamic triad:

Quote
A major source of prophetic traditions comes from the Jewish religion where it is called Masorah, and is identified in Oral Torah, notably in the Pirkei Avot that spans the tradition from Moses to the time of the Second Temple.

In the Christian prophetic tradition the texts are reflected in the New Testament.

The Islamic prophetic tradition is exemplified by the Hadith

The Mormon prophetic tradition was started by Joseph Smith, Jr..

Non-religious prophetic traditions are represented by Nostradamus in France.

I want to connect with a tradition that is bigger than me, bigger and even more ancient than the awful and bloody history which created so-called "Europe;" that is, bigger than the Roman-Greco-Judaic mesh ...  Who are "the people" of this world?

In the desciption of the book, Walking in the Prophetic Tradition: Models of Speaking Truth and Acting in Love for Everyday People:

Quote
Contrary to popular belief, the biblical prophets do far more than predict the future. They speak truth to power, they tell the truth about the uncomfortable past, they indict empty religiosity, they advocate for poor people and working people while seeking justice--all at tremendous risk to themselves. In Walking in the Prophetic Tradition Jason Bembry argues that the prophets have too often been domesticated by cultural impulses that reduce the prophetic message to prediction about Jesus or the end times. This book highlights themes addressed by the Old Testament prophets and connects each theme to modern people who exemplify passion for those same ideals. In this sense the prophetic tradition comes to life in the lived testimony of Martin Luther King Jr., Dorothy Day, Myles Horton, Cesar Chavez, and Cornel West--moderns who stand courageously in this tradition. This book is a guide for all who seek a fuller understanding of the Old Testament prophets and who want to continue their work in the present.

"This powerful and insightful book lays bare how the prophetic fire is manifest in mortal and fallible human beings grounded in Christian faith and radical love! Bembry shows us why we need this courage and compassion more than ever in this Trump moment!"
--Cornel West, philosopher, political activist, and author of Democracy Matters

Who are the people of this world catching hell?  Who are the wretched of the earth?  I do feel connected.

I am not Celine, nor am I Cioran.  And yet, I am certainly no Arthur Schopenhauer who was born into an international merchants household, a merchant who suicided and left Arthur enough to live frugally on for a lifetime.  The world is indebted to Schopenhauer, for sure; but there are those born into poverty whose spiritual understanding may be superior to Schopenhauer's.  Of course there are!  Rather than be ashamed of my economic hardships and seeming inability to earn a living, I wear my pennilessness as a badge of honor.   Like Celine, I do not sell out or succumb to political correctness.   I do not wish to be intimidated by the tyranny of public opinion.   I have great respect for Ikkyu, the frequently drunk rebel monk, bastard child of a Japanese emperor.

Also, recall the Drunken Natives of Amerika:  "I can't be who I am, and I am not going to be who you tell me to be, so I will be NOTHING.  I'll erase the pain and get through it.  I will just do my time, but I will not become you."

I do not have "the white mind" ... on the other hand, I do have to protect my true [Germanic/Scandanavian tribal primitive-mind] identity behind some village idiot drunken madman mask so that they don't kill me.

WHO ARE THEY?

As you know, there are traditions of cultures, where there is a "holy man" --- not just from the Old Testament, but in the tradition of Black Elk.  Was not Chief Crazy Horse second cousin to Black Elk?   John Trudell is the closest thing to a Black Elk "holy man" I ever saw or heard, even though he may have certainly been diagnosed "crazy" by staus-quo degenerates in charge.

Schadenfreude, A Love Story
« Reply #22 on: August 28, 2021, 06:44:59 pm »
While in "The Dollar Store," I happened across a c.2017 hardcover book called Schadenfreude, A Love Story: Me, the Germans, and 20 Years of Attempted Transformations, Unfortunate Miscommunications, and Humiliating Situations That Only They Have Words For by a Rebecca Schuman.

See A conversation with Rebecca Schuman about German humor, Kafka, and her new book Schadenfreude: A Love Story.

I thought it might bring me a little balance after that Celine pamphlet.   How could I resist?  It was like the book was placed there for me to find.   I will honor the author by giving the book some attention, and I bet I stand to learn something valuable.   That is the same reason I have been devoting some attention to Wildberger's Divine Proportions.

I do not take my "attraction" to the ideas of Edmund Husserl (over those of Heidegger) lightly.   I am an honest man, and I do not deny the contradictions, nor the humor in certain paradoxes.

Thankfully, I am also partly Sweed, and even a little Czech ... so I am already a mut.  Not only that, but I am an independent thinker.   I really am trying to understand, trying to become Animal Being Transcending Human Society.

I have tried to read the book by Rebecca Schuman, and there is quite a lot of talk about Kafka and even Hermann Hesse; it just doesn't do it for me.   Maybe after I finish this other very serious text, which is also a love affair, but of the Platonic variety, I will exert more patience and open my mind to her wit.

Until then:  Arthur Schopenhauer and China:  A Sino-Platonic Love Affair by Urs App Swiss National Science Foundation.

To Arthur Schopenhauer,

Quote
SINO-PLATONIC  PAPERS  is  an  occasional  series  edited  by  Victor  H.  Mair.
The  purpose  of  the  series  is  to  make  available  to  specialists  and  the  interested public  the  results  of  research  that,  because  of  its  unconventional  or  controversial nature,  might  otherwise  go  unpublished.  The  editor  actively  encourages  younger, not  yet  well  established,  scholars  and  independent  authors  to  submit  manuscripts for  consideration.  Contributions  in  any  of  the  major  scholarly  languages  of  the world, including Romanized Modern Standard Mandarin (MSM) and Japanese, are acceptable.  In  special  circumstances,  papers  written  in  one  of  the  Sinitic  topolects  (fangyan) may be considered for publication.

Although the chief focus of Sino-Platonic Papers is on the intercultural relations of China  with  other  peoples,  challenging  and  creative  studies  on  a  wide  variety  of  philological subjects will be entertained. This series is not the place for safe, sober, and  stodgy  presentations.  Sino-Platonic  Papers  prefers  lively  work  that,  while taking  reasonable  risks  to  advance  the  field,  capitalizes  on  brilliant  new  insights into the development of civilization.

The only style-sheet we honor is that of consistency. Where possible, we prefer the usages  of  the  Journal  of  Asian  Studies.  Sinographs  (hanzi,  also  called  tetragraphs [fangkuaizi])  and  other  unusual  symbols  should  be  kept  to  an  absolute  minimum.

Sino-Platonic Papers emphasizes substance over form.

Submissions are regularly sent out to be refereed and extensive editorial suggestions for revision may be offered. Manuscripts should be double-spaced with wide  margins  and  submitted  in  duplicate.  A  set  of  "Instructions  for  Authors"  may be obtained by contacting the editor.

Also of note in the first few pages of the text:

I  would  like  to  thank  the  editor  of  the  Sino-Platonic  Papers,  Victor  Mair,  for  his enthusiastic acceptance of this book to commemorate both the 150th anniversary of Schopenhauer’s  death  and  the  200th  issue  of  Sino-Platonic  Papers.  Both  my  forthcoming  book Schopenhauer’s  Compass  and  the  present  one  were  written  in  the  context  of  a  very  generous  Swiss  National  Science  Foundation  grant  (SNSF  grant  101511–116443;  Oriental  influences  on the  genesis  of  Schopenhauer’s  philosophy).  The  support  of  my  tax-paying  Swiss  compatriots makes  research  of  this  kind  possible,  and  the  innovative  approach  of  Victor  Mair  and  his  Sino-Platonic  Papers  team  to  the  promotion  and  free  electronic  distribution  of  scholarly  work  guarantees  a  breadth  of  readership  that  conventional  print  publishers  can  only  dream  of.  To  all people involved I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude.
