I discovered this unique little gem during an all night literary treasure hunt that lasted until five in the morning.   I think you will find it agreeable in that its premise is that the search for happiness is most likely responsible for causing more misery, not less.  How very Schopenhauerian.

The Antidote: Happiness for People Who Can't Stand Positive Thinking

The author explains "ironic process theory" and inspired the theme "The Negative Path".

Note:  The Abyss is the great gulf or void between the phenomenal world of manifestation and its noumenal source.

I tracked down a book for about ten bucks, a book I had given my cousin over 20 years ago and had been unable to find a copy anywhere where the price was not jacked up.

The Dark Side: Thoughts on the Futility of Life from the Ancient Greeks to the Present by Alan R. Pratt

I may type up some lines here from time to time.
