Some kind of web browser hijack by fuse-data.com
« on: September 26, 2018, 11:39:45 pm »
Whenever I log onto whybother.freeboards.org, my web browser gets hijacked by a "findbetterresults.com/?dn=fuse-data.com"

I have to hit Ctrl+W to close the tab each time.  It's very annoying.  It happens in both Windows and Linux, and it seems to only happen here at whybother.freeboards.org

God damn, it's annoying, to say the least.  I have to hit Ctrl+W repeatedly.

Is this happening to anyone else?

I did a little research, but I don't trust those who claim to be able to fix such things as i suspect they are the ones creating the annoying redirects in the first place.

Mind Parasites?  From what I read here at Stack Overflow, I'm not the only one getting hit with this.  It's amazing how effective it is in discouraging me to log in here.

Good   you  see you! I was not facing this problem till the  time you had not  posted this new  thread. But after  checking out the new post I started  getting the  pop ups too.   Here is how I stopped  it:(Supposing you  are  using Chrome as browser)
Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar.
Select Settings.
Click Show advanced settings.
in the "Privacy" section, click the Content settings button.
In the "Pop-ups" section, you will find a box wherein you can put  the url  causing the trouble i.e.http://whybother.freeboards.org/index.php

I do not have this problem. but I inspected adblocker and i can see there is a blocked script for that findbetterresults.com/?dn=fuse-data.com .
I highly recommend installing "ublock-origin" adblocker for firefox or chrome. as it is cut like 90% of crap on internet.
For Firefox https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/
For Chrome https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ublock-origin/cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm

Herr Hentrich aka Math Junkie,

No, I do not have the problem to access the blog. But my computer knowledge is limited so I can say that I go to duckduck go and then I type freeboards.org and then I see the blog.

Stay safe and take a siesta.

Thanks for the suggestions.   This redirect "hijack" had been occurring, as I said, in both Windows and Linux, in Firefox, Chrome, and Microsoft Edge.

I checked the advanced settings for Privacy | Content, and on each I already had Pop-Ups blocked.

Upon installing UBlock Origin in Firefox and Chrome, I could see it working immediately.

For Microsoft Edge, they have uBlock Origin in   their store.

For Pale Moon, I used this.

There is a reason I use so many different web browsers.

Yes, Raul, DuckDuckGo, I have used that in the past in Linux.

Again, thanks for the tips.

I have been deeply engrossed in studying, as well as running my mom around to various doctors.  I realize why I stay awake late into the night or wake up very early - so as to study in peace.

It's a relief to have this redirect blocked.  Maybe I will be more likely to post again now.

Thanks again.

I stopped using chrome long time ago (I use firefox and palemoon only). I use nothing google now but I can tell that the all-seeing-eye can track us easily. there is nowhere to hide from the Masters.

an unexpected flowing of thoughts for the Masters
« Reply #6 on: September 28, 2018, 11:44:47 pm »
I use https://www.startpage.com/ as my Home page and do all my searching from there.

I have nothing to hide from the All Seeing Eye and no inclination to be "known" on any Facebook or other such media.

I mainly use the Internet for tracking down technical information.

I communicate with only a few people and hardly ever talk on the telephone.

Unfortunately, just being an unemployed 51 year old male loner makes me suspect.   I must fit some kind of profile, but that does not concern me.  As long as I can remain enthusiastic about studying math, programming, and a little philosophy, no matter what kind of picture the authorities like to paint of the unsociable loner, I think I am far better off (mentally, emotionally, psychologically) engrossed in these solitary intellectual activities than I would be were I employed on some team designing "apps" for people's telephones, televisions, and automobiles.   Not all of us want to be on a team.  Not all of us "play well with others."

It is best to keep to oneself and not become involved with too many "others".  It's good that a few of us loners can exchange ideas here.  I think this is a unique opportunity that would not be easily reproduced.  Fortunately we do not attract any trolls or antagonists, and we each treat each other with a certain degree of respect.

Even though Holden and I both share an interest in mathematics and philosophy, we both seem to have a strong sense of just how personal (and maybe even private) such disciplines actually are.

We may come off as bitter or frustrated, and for this the spooks might categorize us as "antisocial," leaning strongly in the direction of "anti-capitalistic," non-patriotic, etc.,

I consider myself rather harmless; and yet, often when I would become inebriated, the words which would spew from my mouth would be vile and offensive, perhaps bordering on "terroristic threats" when in the midst of a psychotic episode; which is why, of course, I now abstain from imbibing alcohol.  The ability to access books and notebooks and pencils and food and coffee and tobacco is too precious to risk by indulging in alcoholic oblivion and temporary euphoria.

Also, it is crucial for my conscience at this time to assist my mother as she ages.  Even though I don't believe there is such a thing as a soul, it's good for my soul to do this, meaning, it is good for my conscience.   I am doing what I can, something most with careers and/or families of their own would not be able to do.

So, there are some benefits for an aging mother to have a son who has not been brainwashed into living the "normal life" of marriages, relationships, and jobs.

The bottom line is that I am not afraid of the spooks as I know I am no kind of threat to anyone.

The only way I might end up in serious trouble would be if I were ever employed as some kind of "teacher," even if it were math-oriented.  You see, I am just the kind of man who would be targeted for crucifiction, even if it were over wanting to spend more time on more advanced trigonometry and delay the dive into Calculus.   I would promote something called "Algebra 3" to explore topics maybe considered "advanced" or "impractical and useless" - or even talk about extending the length of high school an extra couple of years, rather than chattling the kids into the workforce, jails, or the army.   College is too expensive and could be postponed for quite a few years.  The whole fuucking system sets the kids up for the psychiatric ward!  And those of us who point this out are condemned as "mentally ill" ourselves.  But what has made us so?

Ah, do you see why I prefer to study in solitude?   The only kinds of jobs I would be hired to do are menial labor ... maintenance and janitorial, somewhere away from the "public".

The Masters do not want me talking to the kids.

I would be set up.   Someone would set me up to get in trouble.

And so I hide ... for my own good, I hide from the ignorant mob, the brainwashed herds and their unfortante children. There is nothing I can offer them, nothing I can teach those who know so much.  After all, they can "google their smart phones" ...  ::)

Hentrich, thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I don't use social media, I am just using internet as a distraction against life. Math and Philosophy are not for me, although i had a huge curiosity for such abstract topics ago, my mind is not functioning well anymore. I applaud you and Holden for such endeavors. I remember i solved tons of trigonometry exercises, also sequences and series, but I liked calculus the most. now I can only remember the symbols. I have inexpiable hate towards even numbers.

regarding the Masters,  I have nothing serious i am browsing, mostly boring things.but as self proclaimed schizoid I feel so secretive, I feel attacked even for banal things known about me
I'm not that  peaceful, when I get angry, there some sinister force that grows in me compelling me to annihilate, annihilate, annihilate the other and myself. maybe someday I will snap!
It might be because  deep inside we are as Ernest Becker says "Gods with anuses"...

recently  I am being more confrontational, It brings the gorts' wrath but there is something comical in that in someway. need to put out the cursed flame somehow..

Hentrich, aka Math Junkie,

Well, now I am having problems to read the board. It happened yesterday and now. I ran across with fusedata.com. Fortunately I can access the board but this is the way the masters want to play games, so let us play games.

Unless you decide to shut down this board, I will keep reading it and sharing my little thoughts, superficial thoughts, nothing original. I should have saved most of the posts in my hard drive. That is a mistake I am going to pay dearly.

I read somewhere that the deep web has some disturbing things. That is where they should go and shut it down. Of course that is not going to happen.

Stay safe.

Raul,

If you continue to experience the redirect to fuse-data, maybe you could install Firefox and install uBlock Origin extension.  I know that it can be very frustrating having to close the new tabbed window with Ctrl+W every time you click on freeboards.org page.  I don't know why it is only attacking the freeboards site, but the uBlock suggested above did the trick.  I installed it into all the web browsers in both Linux and Windows.

Ibra,

You stated:

Why do you hate even numbers?  I am curious.

Some days I enjoy working my way through textbooks, but today I was extremely on edge.  I swear, sometimes, I think I might enjoy to poison myself with hard liquor, some brandy; but then I get a grip on myself and realize that I do not want to unleash all the pent up frustrations within me.

Some days are more miserable than others.

"Some days are more miserable than others." well said, that sums life for me.

about even numbers, i have no explanation why I hate them, maybe because they look easy to work with( hmmm, gorts numbers, no individuality).

Hentrich,

Thank you for suggestion. It was the first time I had difficulties in accesing the board. Every time I log it I see findbetterresults and then fusedata.com. But I am accessing it now and reading the comments.

Thank you again.
