We identify our individual personality as this consciousness, and yet, our inner nature is not in consciousness at all, and, in fact, is not even human, having more in common with mountains and oceans and qualita occultae (plural?) than with other human beings (personality, temperament, etc).

Maybe our moods are more akin to chaotic weather patterns (hidden forces) than with genetically acquired traits.
