A Question for Herr Hauser and Senor Raul

Herr Hauser and Senor Raul,

I have a question for you.Asking for a friend  :-\

Hopefully you would be kind enough to respond. If your parents had threatened you that either you get married or else they will never speak to you again and disown and disinhert you and adopt someone else in your place as their legal heir and never ever help you again in any way at all ,or ever see you again, then what would you have done?

What do you think Schopenhauer would have done?(Mind you,in this scenario he loses all his inheritance if he refuses to marry ). Essentially, what I am trying to ask is that do you think Schopenhauer was strong enough to withstand this economic blow and work to earn his daily bread and live all alone in the world? Are you?No help from parents or any of the other relatives. You are completely on your own , financially, socially, emotionally.
Schopenhauer does not get so much as a penny,if he says no to marriage. You get zero support from your parents and relatives.

Could you be the much-awaited Ubermensch  :-\

Thanks.

Holden,

Your question is very important and also very difficult. My circumnstances were very different. What would have I done if my parents threatened me to get married or else they would have never spoken to me again?

My father worked almost all his life and my mother worked until she got pregnant. All the money my father got was because he knew how to save what he earned. Things were different then. But we were never rich. I I don´t know what I would have done. Above all I have no genius, no nothing.

From the little I read about Schopenhauer is that he was a genius and he knew that. He knew he was right. Things would have been different. He would have had to earn his daily bread or commit suicide. Either way the thinking minority would have never read his master works. The world would have never known and read the man from Danzig. I am sure many geniuses were lost this way.

Stay safe.

Silenus:
Holden & Raul,
How are you two holding up? Quarantine is quite ok for "introverts" such as us. What I am curious about is food & other supplies- have either of you experienced shortages in basic necessities?

I have stocked up on rice, beans and frozen vegetables. I have major concerns about the stability of global supply chains.

Take care.

Silenus,

Thank you for your words. I hope you are taking care over there. You have done well in stocking up on rice, beans and frozen vegetables. I also hope you are able to have access to medical services.

We are in Holy Week and most activities in the past decreased because most went to the countryside but today things are different. I buy basic things really. Here most of the basic products come from Argentina and Brazil because the national production does not supply much. There is no food sovereignty in this country. The municipality market is working without health measures. The curfew will probably continue until May. But the economy will suffer and those in power will take advantage of this situation.

Due to this confinement most business activities stopped and although there is a government support it is not enough because many here survive on a daily basis. Besides those in power don´t really care much about the population. The health authorities reacted very late to this huge crisis.

The health authorities are threatening people with the message: Your life or the oven. That is to say, there is a huge oven used by the SENAD, (Secretaría Nacional Antidrogas) similar to the DEA in the U.S. This device used to burn confiscated drugs will be used for cremation.

What else can I say? This could be one of my last messages in this board. The capital has the majority of the infected so I will not avoid the bug.

Take care.
