life is torment ---> a misery machine

This world is cruel. I often see young women who are not physically attractive. I don´t think they will experience any joy here.Well, that is the way it goes. Many of us are ugly, some are beautiful, or others like me ruined by the love for alcohol, addictions, diseases, etc.

Raul,
I understand you are addressing Holden, but I wished to let you know that I have thought about this often.  Consider Arthur Schopenhauer's sister, for example.  Her life seems to have been even sadder than her brother's - even with the wealth inherited.  The thing is though, some of the most beautiful looking women can become the most hurt, abused and inevitably deranged creatures.  This world must take its toll on all, and some of us have been wounded deeply by our experiences as animal creatures in environments.   We have processed the general alienation, damaged by not only "the civilizing process," but by our general experience of what it is to "exist" or "be" --- torment.

There is a great deal of envy, jealousy, animosity, acrimony, etc., ...

(See Love and Respect)

I wonder if seeing a beautiful woman such as Valerie June would cause feelings of ill-will in women not as easy on the eyes.

Do I myself feel acrimony toward "big and tall men" just because I am so "small-boned" ?   Am I like poor old Dizzy Duck that John Trudell sings about?  Do I have some god-dang inferiority/superiority complex?   Most likely.  I really hate witnessing ugly feelings in myself.   While drinking I may experience intense flashes of anger, and then, the next morning I experience dread and anxiety over intense confusions in my heart.

Hentrich aka The GrandUncle

Thank you for your words. I hope you and your mother are doing allright.

I know you have thought and written in the board many times about how cruel and miserable our world is. Many unattractive young women will not feel any joy here. As time passes they will become bitter and resentful. They will wish they had never been born.

When I write about how cruel we, humans, are, I do not separate myself from this cruelty. I am part of this madness. We are driven to inflict pain and suffering on our fellow human beings.

I have also seen young women and men at the same time with severe physical disabilities. These people have and will have a tougher time than most people.

And who knows as time passes if I will have to use a wheelchair? Here sometimes bus drivers do not allow disabled people to get into the buses.

This is the gift of life that was given to us.

Walk carefully.

Through the Haze of Pain and Alcohol

(Typed out with the left hand)I'm suffering from severe neck spasm. My right hand is affected too so unable to write or type properly. My right hand has balloned. I saw three doctors. Each of them subscribed pain killer. No freaking relief. So,after a long time,I  bought alcohol again. It makes the pain bearable.

Sorry to hear about your bodily agonies.  There were (are) times when I would (will) drink to deaden the nerve endings alerting me of tooth decay.  I understand that you, even more so than myself, are quite a loner.  Myself, when I intend to do serious drinking, I sit alone getting into music.  You must be frustrated not being able to use writing tools.   You might try recording your agonies with your voice, spoken word or just audible groaning.

I think it is the sheer potential for excruciating physical agony that makes all living creatures so anxious.  There is also the emotional heartache and psychological torment we may be bombarded with FROM WITHIN.   I know you will be careful, and that you are aware of the dangers.  Handle with care.  Handle your entire nervous system with care.

I know the relief you speak of.  If only there were not such a deep well of emotional confusion within me!  It all comes to the surface rather rapidly.   When drunk, I really seem to be a man possessed.  I often wish there were a controlled environment where I could beat on drums in a quiet room and record myself screaming while in that state.

One or two beers in mixed company is okay, but if I'm going to drink to get drunk I prefer to do it by myself. (reddit)

If you are prepared for the strong emotions that may accompany the physical pain-relief, you will most likely recover.  I wonder if this physical ailment prevents you from getting by in the office.  Surely your employer has granted some time for you to convalesce.  In that case, getting your "cry on" might be cathartic for you.  Often a good sobbing can bring sudden relief.  It does not have to last long, and then it is out, then maybe some laughter will follow, kind of the way your friend, The Joker, processes his rupturings with the social fabric.

I trust you will take care and not go wandering around looking for trouble with those wild dogs in the street.

As Don Raul says so often, stay safe.

Please do stay safe AND sound, of sound mind.  I have grown accustomed to your presence on this message board.  When I get lost in the sauce, I become too sloppy, not fit for polite society, not fit for study, hardly fit for typing even, since the kinds of emotions the spirits awaken in me bring out some nasty feelings within me.   For some reason, my wit becomes more mean-spirited when inebriated.   For me personally, I have to take care with that stuff.

Please do not think that I take our use of the spirits lightly when I post the next two videos.   Remember not to damn yourself over it.  Remember John Trudell speaking about non-cooperation:  say no to "guilt, sin, and blame".

specifically:  https://youtu.be/PHoDGOsZCGw?t=394 (On The Difference in Civil Disobedience and Non Cooperation)

By refusing to damn ourselves, we are not cooperating with their damnation of us.

Thanks Herr Hauser. You are not the best, but the very best. I don't know why people around you cannot see it. But then again, they did not recognise Schopenhauer too, well, not until he was well into his sixties and then only for a moment and he was forgotten again.

Just so you know drinking deepens my introversion and does not lessen it.

Holden,

Write whenever you can and I hope you recover as soon as possible.

On the issue of alcohol, I cannot drink anymore although I want to taste a little beer from time to time specially that we are suffering a terrible heat. Some alternative bloggers that this part of HAARP, the technology to manipulate the weather. Who knows?

Thank you for the article. It is a very sad story. The guy donates kidney to girlfriend's mother, she marries someone else a month after operation. That´s part of life.  When we no longer need someone we change and move on... to the grave.

You view the world with gravity.

I read that U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt said that “'The Only Good Indians Are the Dead Indians.” If I twist his words, I would say that the best human is the dead human. In short it is better not to have been born.

Stay safe.

Holden,

Thank you for your words. I hope you recover soon.

I am not a mentor to anyone. I just write what I think in the board.

Let me quote again what French author Jacques Lacarriere wrote in his book about the Gnostics:

“To sum up the essential position of the Gnostics in still simpler terms, let us say that in their eyes the evil which taints the whole of creation and alienates man in body, mind, and soul, deprives him of the awareness necessary for his own salvation. Man, the shadow of man, possesses only a shadow of onsciousness. And it is to this one task that the Gnostics of the first centuries AD deliberately devoted themselves, choosing paths which were not only unorthodox but which, moreover, greatly scandalized their contemporaries: to create in man a true consciousness, which would permit him to impart to his thoughts and deeds the permanence and the rigour necessary to cast off the shackles of this world.

The world in which we live is not only opaque, heavy, and given over to death, but is above all a world born of a monumental machination; a world that was not foreseen, not desired, flawed in all its parts; a world in which every thing, every being, is the result of a cosmic misunderstanding. In this whirlpool of errors, this universal shipwreck which is the history of matter and of man, we on earth are rather like survivors condemned to eternal solitude, planetary detainees who are the victims of injustice on a truly cosmic scale. Stars, ether, aeons, planets, earth, life, flesh, inanimate matter, psyche - all are implicated, dragged into this universal disgrace.

Let us sum up: we are exploited on a cosmic scale, we are the proletariat of the demiurge-executioner, slaves exiled into a world that is viscerally subjected to violence; we are the dregs and sediment of a lost heaven, strangers on our own planet.”

Stay safe.
