Wow, I didn't realize Alex Jones wanted to colonize "outer space".  His attitude really turned me off.  I thought I was a fan of Alex Jones, but after viewing some of that, I really think I will stand alone and not identify too much with "groups".

So Jones thinks Stanhope ought to be concerned that his ancestors fought bears and storms so that he could be here, and that we ought to be striving to colonize the "billions" of fertile planets in the galaxy.

I had no idea that Alex Jones was a space monkey.

Thanks for the clue, Holden.

By the way, I do dig where Stanhope is coming from.  He always appears very straight-forward and honest.  He certainly doesn't pull any punches when referring to the gorts.  I understand what Stanhope is expressing when he talks about "being in the top 5% (as far as brains go)" and still not feeling very bright - and yet feeling much brighter than those who glorify celebrities, athletes, etc ... or those who die in wars for the State (or religion).

It is difficult not to be a kind of elitist when one finds he is one out of 1000 who thinks "too much and too deep".

I remember when the gortbusters website got going in 2003 or so.  Some people accused us of being elitists ... Someone even accused me of having a kind of Hitlerian contempt for the gorts.  These days I think I am far less judgmental than I have been in the past.

I have rotten teeth and don't care about lifting weights.  That doesn't mean someone who goes to a gym to workout and who has shiny white teeth is a gort, right?  It just means that they take care of their teeth and build muscles, whereas I have been neglectful of my chompers (now I pay the price for that neglect) and am not compelled to fight gravity.

I still say Wisenheimer things like, "Lift your face, the western way ... build your muscles as your body decays ..."

Vanity is a luxury I can't afford.

I don't care about being a skinny runt.  It used to bother me, but now ... I could not care less.

I'm just waiting for the hammer to fall!

Maybe this is another aspect I appreciate about losing myself in these studies of "applied mathematics" ... As long as I am engrossed and interested, my mental energies are focused on abstractions, and I do not waste too much energy on "hatreds" or resentments.
